The Department of Veterans Affairs is a partner meant to work hand in hand when Veterans seek care outside the Veteran Administration. However, as commercial insurance carriers moved into the 21st Century, the VA did not keep up. Now, in 2023, the VA is attempting to catch up more than 40 years in single leap, which has led to significant changes and struggles.
