Jim Lackey, Chairman

With more than 30 years of executive healthcare experience, and as a leader in the revenue cycle management industry, Jim Lackey brings exceptional insight to EnableComp’s product and services development process. In 1996, he joined Passport Health Communications as President, in 1998 assumed the additional responsibilities of CEO, and currently serves as the company’s Chairman. Today, Passport is a national provider of revenue cycle management solutions to more than 2,500+ hospitals in addition to more than 9,000+ physicians, clnics and ancillary offices across all 50 states.

Lackey began his career in 1978 working in the financial administration department for a 300-bed community hospital. Over the years, he has served as a consultant for Ernst & Young and for a managed Medicaid intermediary. he was Assistant Vice President of Administration for HealthAmerica Corporation, Vice President of Administration and founding officer for Coventry Corporation, and President of FOCUS Healthcare Management.

 

Casey West

Casey West has ten years of experience in entrepreneurial finance. His focus is on healthcare services, healthcare information technology and technology-enabled services companies. He has represented or currently represents SSM in its investments in Bloodhound Technologies, HealthTeacher, Passport Health Communications, RemitDATA, Senior Whole Health and FrontStream Payments.

Prior to joining SSM in 2004, Mr. West spent several years with Petra Capital Partners as an investment principal and in the healthcare investment banking group of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corporation. Mr. West received a B.A. with honors in History from the Virginia Military Institute and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He is the co-founder and past president of the Tomorrow Fund, a non-profit organization that provides training for young professionals interested in community outreach and is a member of the Nashville Healthcare Council.

 

William Wilkins

William Wilkins brings more than 30 years of executive health care industry leadership and government financial administration expertise to the Board. While, he began his career in finance and administration with the State of Ohio, serving as Director of both the Office of Budget and Management and the Department of Administrative Services, he later transitioned to health care. Initially, he served as CFO and later as president and CEO of Riverside Methodist Hospital and directly after as president and CEO of Grant Medical Center. Rising through the ranks, he went on to lead OhioHealth, one of the largest employers in central Ohio, as CEO during a time of rapid growth. His leadership grew OhioHealth from a five hospital to an 11 hospital system and from $200 million in revenue to more than $1 billion.

After OhioHealth, Wilkins went back to his earliest career roots in finance, serving as Tax Commissioner for the State of Ohio, overseeing all operations of the Ohio Department of Taxation with tax collection totaling more than $20 billion in 2005. In this role, he advised the Governor on tax policy and legislation, representing both the Governor and the Department before the Ohio General Assembly and U.S. Congress. In addition, he led the enactment of the most significant Ohio tax reform initiative in more than 40 years, resulting in a net tax reduction for taxpayers of $2 billion per year. After this period, and with a talent for rescuing companies in crisis, Wilkins served as Interim CEO to central Ohio agencies and nonprofit organizations on the brink of bankruptcy in the health and welfare arena, restoring financial stability, operational integrity and community confidence. Currently, he is Chief Administrative Officer for Coordinated Health Plans of Ohio Inc., Ohio’s only health care CO-OP.

 

Hunter Witherington

Hunter joined SSM Partners in 2004 and focuses on making investments in Software & Technology, Internet & Consumer, and Healthcare companies. During his time at SSM, he has been involved in the firm’s investments in All Web Leads, Bulldog Solutions, Complete Holdings Group, Datacert, FrontStream Payments, New Era Portfolio, and OpinionLab.

Prior to SSM, Hunter spent several years in investment banking with Stephens Inc. working on mergers and acquisitions, private placements, and public offerings for middle-market companies. Hunter received a B.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University, where he graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He is a board member and the treasurer of the Thomas W. Briggs Foundation which provides funding and support for the non-profit community in Memphis.

 

Bob Yeager

Bob Yeager, co-founder and CEO of American Pathology Partners (APP), has over 30 years of experience in healthcare services. Prior to APP, he was Chairman of Attentus Healthcare Company, an operator of rural acute care hospitals, which he co-founded. Previously, he was President and CEO of OrthoLink Physicians Corporation, one of the largest providers of physician management services for orthopedic and sports-medicine doctors, backed by Welsh Carson Anderson & Stowe. OrthoLink was one of the few successful physician practice management companies to grow and survive in a difficult macro environment. The company provided services for over 200 physicians across the country.

Prior to OrthoLink, Mr. Yeager was Executive Vice President and CFO of Quorum Health Group, a large hospital management company founded as a spin-off of HCA and backed by Welsh Carson Anderson & Stowe. At Quorum, Mr. Yeager completed a $115 million IPO and raised over $200 million of debt capital. Previously, he held several positions with Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), including hospital CFO, Regional AVP, and VP/Controller of HCA Management Company which ultimately was spun off to form Quorum.
